Annual General Meeting

The Club’s Annual General Meeting will be held this coming Friday, March 16th at Havering Indoor Bowls Club, Harrow Lodge commencing at 8pm. All members aged over 15 are welcome. The meeting is likely to last some 45 minutes and the bar is available to HMAC members afterwards.

Groundshare

Members may have read in the local press recently of a local authority proposal to force through a ground share arrangement between AFC Hornchurch and Romford FC for the 2007/08 season.

The view of the HMAC Committee is that such an arrangement would be unfair on AFC Hornchurch given the improvements the Club has made to the Stadium in recent years. We understand that the Board of the football club is seeking legal advice as to their position.

We have been told that our training evenings – and Sunday morning – will be unaffected should the proposal be implemented. More news when we have it.

Getting Involved

With the 2007 track and field season fast approaching, the Club will again be looking for additional volunteers to help out at home and away meetings.

If you are prepared to assist in some way – perhaps helping with field events or moving hurdles – please let us know by talking to any team manager or member of the Committee.

Going to the Dogs!

Due to circumstances outside the Club’s control, the ‘night at the dogs’ planned for Saturday, March 3rd had to be cancelled.

With so many people expressing interest, it was disappointing but every effort will be made to reschedule the event in the not-too-distant future.

Junior Men’s Team Manager

The most urgent need currently is for somebody to take on the role of Junior Men’s Team Manager. The squad looks strong this year but cannot operate without a Team Manager. Only four meetings are involved including a home meeting at Mayesbrook and a short trip to Basildon.

Please contact Jean Tierney (01708 341547) if you wish to know more.
