Barking & Dagenham Sports Awards For the second year in succession, the Club won the Barking & Dagenham ‘Club of the Year’ Award presented on Saturday, November 21st at Castle Green. To add to that success, Lucy Sargent was presented with the ‘Sports Person of the Year’ Award. The Club award was sponsored jointly by the local authority and the Barking & Dagenham Sports Council.

The Club’s traditional Boxing Day Handicap will take place on December 26th starting at 10.30am in Rise Park. The handicap is based on road race performances (5m to 10m) and/or previous times in the event. There is a voluntary donation from competitors to St Francis Hospice. All HMAC athletes and members of other clubs over the age of 16 are welcome.

A serious accident recently to a senior woman athlete at the Hornchurch Stadium has again urged us to remind everybody of the need to adhere to the track and field disciplines. We make no apologies for reprinting them here. |

2010 SPRING WARM-UPSThe Club will be holding Spring Warm-up meetings next year on the following dates:Sunday, 28th March 29th, 2010 Hornchurch Stadium Saturday, 10th April – Mayesbrook Arena |
Annual General MeetingThe Club’s AGM will take place on Friday, 19 March 2010 at the Havering Indoor Bowls Club, Harrow Lodge commencing at 8am. Nominations are invited for positions on the Finance & General Purposes Committee and other voluntary roles. So if you would like to get more involved with the administration of the Club, here’s your chance! |
Fluorescent BibsAll athletes going on regular road runs as part of their winter training MUST wear a fluorescent bib or some other form of illumination (e.g. arm bands). Bibs are available from Irene Brennan at a discounted price of £3.50.

2010 TRACK FEES AND SEASON TICKETS For the first time in three years, track fees are to be increased with effect from January 1, 2010 with the price of season tickets increasing accordingly. There is NO increase in membership fees.

Season tickets are particularly good value if purchased early January. Assuming two training sessions per week, you can save some 25% over a year (equating to 12 free weeks). For seniors training more than twice a week, the saving is appreciably more. An administration fee of £5 will be added to any membership fee unpaid by March 31, 2010.
