Alpha Beta Trophy Haringey, Saturday 9 April 2005
The club’s ladies team shrugged cold
& blustery conditions to post some good early season results at Haringey on
Saturday. They were unable to match their recent run of top two finishes in the
Alpha Trophy but held onto their position in the annual competition with a sixth
place team finish.
For the seniors the fast
improving Harriet Scott impressed with her first major track win in storming to
1500m victory in a new PB six seconds inside her previous best and Robyn Matson
provided strong back up with B string runners up. Bethan
Siddons showed her potential with B high jump win and on the field Mel Harrison
launched the javelin to a new PB for 2nd place, while Sarah Deacon
was also second in the B discus.
The under 15s recorded
some good results. Nicola Hill stormed to a 75m hurdles win and Ingrid Deane was
equally dominant with her 800m success. Catrina McAuliffe had a great day with
seconds in both B hurdles and discus and a shot PB, while Jessica Humpheryes was
2nd in the A discus, improving her PB in the process. The 1500m
pairing of Emma Fox and Cloe Winter both bagged seconds in new landmark times,
while Rachel Kerr made a massive breakthrough on her earlier 200m best to claim
runners up spot.
