The combined senior ladies & U15 team  have regained their place in the Alpha Trophy after a good performance at a cold & wet Lee Valley on Saturday.

The seniors finished second after five wins. Zoë Young made her club debut with a javelin PB of 32.77m to rank 7th on the all time list. She also placed fourth in the long jump, fifth in the 200m and anchored the sprint relay team to place second.

Mel Harrison added discus victory, and was runner up in the shot with her longest put since July 2006.

Hayley Pegg dominated the 1500m in difficult conditions after missing the 800m when she was held up in traffic on the way to Lee Valley. Claire Brennan capped a typically busy day with a battling win in the B string 200m, placed second in the sprint hurdles and and was close to her 100m best placing fourth. Nicola Hill also scored well adding a 100m Hurdles B victory after placing third in her first run over 400m.  U17 Lydia St Ange did well in her debut against senior opposition, losing the B 100m only after careful scrutiny of the photo finish being given the same time as the winner. She later joined Hill, Brennan and Zoë Young in the sprint relay squad.

Nina Brennan was second in her B 400m race and Cathy Matthews made her debut in club colours with a good runners up in the 400m hurdles.  Another second place came from Bethan Siddons who lost out on count back in the high jump.

Completing the squad were Angela James who was third in the B javelin and fourth in the B high jump, Sam Hill who was similarly placed in the B shot & discus and Alex Beard who stepped into the A string 800m at short notice and ran well for fourth place/

For the U15 the throwers scored highly. The highlight was Debbie Knight's superb javelin win with 29.30m - 8th best all time by a club female and third best by a club U15 - in her first competition with the the 600mg spear. She was also close to her best in the shot where she placed third and improved her 100m PB.

All three B string throws went the club's way as Laura Drew (discus & javelin) and Sophie Baggs (shot) scored maximum points.

On the track there was a strong showing in the 1500m as Eleanor Bounds smashed her PB in a competitive race against Thurrock's Jessica Judd and Rachael Sadler placed third overall to win the B. 

Shannon Sullivan was pipped in the final stages of the 800m but was rewarded with a PB in second place and also added a long jump PB.  Good points came from Nicola Peachey (3rd hurdles, 4th long jump and 5th 200m) and Jess Seekings was 5th in all her three events.  This trio were joined by Debbie Knight in the 4x100m relay squad, placing fifth.
