Simon Hart was once again the fastest of the club representatives in Sunday’s London marathon. Despite an injury affected winter Simon ran faster than in last year’s race, clocking 2 hours 42m 59 secs, the day after his 51st birthday to place 10th in the M50 age group. Team-mates Richard Heath (2:50.00) & Jason Crispin (2:51.39) both improved their best times to enter the club all-time top 20.
Robyn Matson surprised herself with a new PB of 3h 1m 13s, taking some five minutes off her previous best despite missing training due to injuries and now aims to crack the three hour barrier on her next outing in Amsterdam in October. Luke Jackson clocked 3:14.22 on his marathon debut, Rob Dickenson was pleased to finish (3:30.51) while Clare Davies trimmed her best to 3:55.46 on her second outing.
