The Eastern Young Athletes team again notched up a clutch of PBs as they battled it out with hosts Ipswich on Sunday.  As the team left for home the overall result was still in doubt but after initially declaring a tie , after checking HMAC were the winners by 13 points.

The under 17men were again in dominant form with a dozen individual victories. Paul Adair won the 400m in a new PB and added the B 800m, as Ashley Reece won the A 800m event and Craig Moore made it a 400m double too. There was another double in the 1500m as Matt Bloy stepped up an age group to win and Ashley Reece cruised round for B string honours, as well as wining B string maximum points. The powerful javelin pairing of Bonne Buwembo & Cafer Gunay made it another winning double and Gary Tonks added a B discus win.  The final victory went to Anthon Williams with an easy hurdles success.

For the u17 women Lauren Clark was a double winner with a front running 800m victory and discus victory. Her B string partners Amie Adams (800m) and Lauren Newton (discus) also took full points while sisters Christina & Jennifer Holland kept it in the family with a 1500m double.  Frankie Calder was the final club winner in the age group with a shot win, but she had to give second best in the sprints to Nicole Sadler from the host club.

The u15 girls also scored well as Nicola Hill had a win treble in the hurdles, 200m and discus. Catrina McAuliffe won the B hurdles and set a new shot PB, while Ingrid Deane & Georgia Davies won the 800m and 1500m respectively. Carla Schofield contributed the final win for the u15s in the B discus.

There were four wins for the u15 boys with Steve McLachlan and Grant Twist both improving their PBs for a 1500m double while Joe Webster set a new PB to win the B 800m in a competitive race. Another athlete to win in a new PB was Georgie Bean who launched the javelin further than before.

Alex Edwards was in fantastic form for the u13 girls winning both sprints and setting a new shot PB and Michelle Lovell was victorious in the B 800m.  The powerful Michael Jones starred for the u13 boys winning the 800m in impressive fashion and setting new shot & discus marks.
