The Eastern Young Athletes squad powered to another 200+ points win at Thurrock in their final league fixture. It was their fourth big winning margin in the five fixtures and the squad now look forward to the League Trophy Final when they will renew their rivalry with league champions Bedford, who inflicted their only narrow defeat.

There were wins in five of the six age categories, with only the U15 Girls losing out.

The u17 girls rattled up a massive 59 point winning margin, albeit against weak opposition, with 10 wins. Six of the wins were uncontested as Alex Beard & Becky Owen (800m), Hayley Thomas & Charlotte Owen (1500m) and Charlotte Owen & Beard (high jump) were the only competitors. B string wins came virtue of Lauren Newton's shot & javelin double, Rachel Kerr's 300m B win & Carla Schofield's discus PB.

The U17 Men faced sterner opposition and five A wins & two B victories saw them 11 points clear of Basildon. Four wins came in the throws as Bonne Buwembo, threw beyond 60m in his second javelin competition of the day, travelling on from the U17 Inter counties with B string winner Cafer Gunay close to his best too. Craig Moore spun the discus to a new PB to take the A and Gunay added a double with a B string PB.  On the track A string successes came from Grant Twist (800m), Daniel Winters (1500m) and the improving Daniel Loynes whose hurdles PB took him to victory. The relay squad added a seventh victory - one of five HMAC relay successes.

The U15 boys edged out Basildon by three points thanks to 8 individual & a relay win. Liam Hughes contributed a sprint double, with brother Terry adding sibling success with a B 200m win. John Whitehead won both B 400 & 800m races, with Simon Brown taking the A 800m for good measure. Throws wins came from Georgie Bean (javelin) & Jordan Jackson (B discus).

The u13 girls  won their section by 11 points from Thurrock. Sophie Baggs was the star turn as she improved her discus PB to 25.41m, fourth best in the UK this summer, to win & added a B high jump win. Rebecca O'Neill was another athlete to win two events as she cruised to an 800m A victory & improved her discus PB to win the B in that event. Nicola Peachey again added a B 800m victory, Rebecca Stanley won the B 1500m in a new PB and the relay team also won.

The U13 boys had a big 20 point win through a good all-round team effort, despite no individual A wins. Emerging talent Rhys Stevenson won a B sprint double, and Tyler Bennett added a B 800m & discus double. The relay team were comfortable winners.

The U15 girls, who impressed in the last round, found the going harder this time. Zoey Littlechild's 1500m win provided the only track A string maximum, while B field wins came from Becky Luck (discus) & Sidnie Sales (javelin) with the relay squad winning also.
