The Eastern YAL squad posted their best result of the season when they toppled unbeaten league leaders Peterborough in their third round fixture at Stevenage. The win increases the certainty that the club will once again feature in the end of season Top Six trophy final

The U17 Men dominated their section, winning by 40 points. Ten individual wins, five A and five B, plus a relay success were the deciding factors. Laurence Goodacre won both shot & discus and Jack Edgar-Hill (hurdles) Daniel Shanney (800m) and Jordan Brown (long jump) were the A winners and Terry Hughes (high & triple jumps), Joseph Waked (800m), Chris Lowe (1500m) and Kieran Nelson (hurdles) provided B victories.

There were second places for the U17 women. Alex Edwards coasted to a 200m & 300m double, Patsy McWeeney won A javelin & B 1500m, Amber Turner (800m) and Sam Hill (discus earned A string wins and B successes went to Rebecca Rollinson (high jump), Katherine Knight (discus) and Hannah McWeeney (javelin).

For the U13 girls Hannah Bloy had a throws double with A shot & discus wins and Avril Loynes (also discus) and Lauren Brocks (long jump) added B string victories. 

Finbar Smyth delivered the only A win in the 800m for the U13 boys and added B discus success, and four more B wins came from George Perkins (200m), Jordan Fox (800m), Nicholas Shade (1500) and Nick Duffey (hurdles).

The U15 boys had track wins in the 400m (Adam Samuel), 1500m (Ryan O’Mahoney) and hurdles (Jake Nelson) and Andrew Kerr’s hammer win was the sole field A successes. More wins in the B strings came by way of Thomas Davies’ 1500m maximum, Cameron Fazakerley’s high jump win and Luke Overton who spun the discus to a B win.

The U15 girls had 10 wins – four A and six B. Sophie Baggs had an A double in the hot & discus, and Shelley Wilson also won the B discus and javelin. Rachel Sadler and Rebecca Stanley doubled up with 500m wins Nicola Peachey (long jump) added to the victory roll, Holly Thomas made her debut with B 100m and long jump wins, while Deborah Knight won the B shot.
