Havering's young athletes saw off a strong challenge from Dacorum & Tring to notch up their third victory of the season to confirm heir runners up place in the Eastern Young Athletes League, and qualify for the end of season Top 6 Trophy.

The Under 17 Men scored thirteen wins and eight second places but still had a close battle with Dacorum.  The club's athletes won every track event they contested with win doubles for Richard Akinyebo (100m & 200m), Somto Okpalauko (200m & 400m B), Reece Harriott (400m A & 800m B), Alex Friend (800m) & Harry Jones (1500m). Somto added a win in the B long jump with Oliver Ray (high jump) and Peter Brinton-Quinn (javelin) added more victories, with Peter runner up in both the A vault & discus. More second places came courtesy of Charlie Savill (shot, javelin & B discus), Kimathi Christie (high jump & B triple jump), Tobi Idowu (long jump) and Success Ariyibi (triple jump)  before Tayo Harry joined Tobi, Somto & Richard in the wining relay quartet.

The Under 15 Girls won by over 25 points thanks to 14 victories. Jessie Collier (vault & B discus), Freya Killilea (discus & B shot), Freya Higginbottom (long jump & B 200m), Tayllah Barton-Conde (long jump & high jump B ) both won two events while Ruby Mace (high jump), Uche Okpalauko & Maddie Barker (300m A & B), Natalie Sewell (150m), and Lola Kuponiyi (shot) also won. Bella Smith (100m), Paige Robinson (B hurdles) & Chloe Rand (1500m B) were second and the relay squad of Shalom Gbadebo, Aaliyah Payne, Paige & Bella won comfortably.

The Under 13 Girls had seven first places as Stephanie Okoro (1500m), Katie Ennis (discus) and Faith Reilly (javelin) won in the A strings, and Tilly Canty (1500m), Isabelle Bartlett (high jump), Freya Long (long jump), and Zikora Ezeonwuka (discus) took full points in their B strings Rania Richards (100m & 200m B), Emily Wapshott (800m), Charlotte Grundy (high jump) were second as was the relay quartet of Rania, Tilly, Stephanie & Lucy Nattrass

The Under 13 Boys had a narrow win in an all-round team display. Matthew Page (shot) was the only A string winner and Freddie Harris (800m) the only B string victor as Thomas Greening (200m), Nathan hart (1500m), Sebastian Alexandru (hurdles), Oscar Shearing (high jump) and the relay team of Thomas, Reece Malcolm, Denzel Bilson and Lewis Dixon.

The Under 17 Women were just edged out. Poppy Ellis & Jade Kavanagh won both 300m strings, Adelaide Thatcher-Gray had a win double in the javelin & B shot and Robyn Moody won the discus. Temitope Ajayi (100m) and Charlie Wright (800m & discus B) earned second places while the 4x100m foursome of Esther Agnimel, Temitope, Charlie & Jade ended the day with a win.

The Under 15 boys also just lost out despite eight wins. Daragh Thomas's 300m PB brought victory and he added a win in the high jump B, Toby Bishop and Jacob Blanc both won their hurdles events, and Ejiro Akpotor won both shot & discus, with Patrick McLean-Tattan winning the discus B and Shane Hart adding the B javelin to second in the 1500m. Second places were added by Michael Okoro (100m B), Charlie Howell and Timi McDaniel (800m A & B), Ashton Thatcher-Gray (high jump) and the relay quartet of Okoro, Thomas, Bishop and Malcolm Oshungbohun.  

The Eastern Young Athletes season ends with the Top 6 Trophy Final being hosted by Ipswich, where Havering will also take on league champions Shaftesbury Barnet, Dacorum & Tring, City of Norwich and local rivals Basildon.
