Club teams took gold in all three boys' races. The under 17 men were at last able to field a full squad and dominated from the start to blast to victory as Ashley Reece, Ross Clarke & Matt Watkins showed their class to win by a minute from Basildon.
The under 15 boys returned to form to win their category as Matt Bloy laid down the gauntlet with his 9:39 opener, which turned out to be the fastest in the age group earning him individual gold. Simon Brown (10:19) and Grant Twist's anchor of 9:58 (3rd fastest) ensured gold medals. In the B team Steve McLachlan showed signs of a return to form after recent injuries with a 10:17 clocking.
The under 13 boys also led from the gun as Jamie Buckley Stanton's dazzling 10:25 first leg saw him come home well clear with the fastest stage of the age group to earn him individual gold and Liam Bush (11:26 - third fastest) and Chris Sullivan (11:46) brought the team home a minute ahead of runners up Chelmsford.
There was an even larger winning margin for the superb under 13 girls who finished over two minutes clear of the opposition. Eleanor Bounds' opening leg of 11:15 was beaten only by Southend's Smee's 11:08 opener and these proved to be the fastest two legs of the age group. Rebecca O'Neill's 11:58 stage saw HMAC take pole position and Sidnie Sales made no mistake on the anchor extending the lead with her 11:32 leg, the third fastest overall.
The u15 and U17 girls' trios both ran well for team silver. Georgie Sales' excellent 10:59 anchor for the u15s was second fastest in the age group.
