London Mini-Marathon, 22 April 2001

Faye Fullerton (pictured) won her fifth victory in the London Mini-Marathon today.  After previous victories in the younger age categories, the talented Upminster 16-year-old defended her title in the 15-17 age category and hopes to make it three out of three in her final effort in this age group next April in the annual event held over the last 4 kms of the London Marathon course. She also had to endure a post-race TV interview with a clearly unbriefed Sue Barker who asked if GB International Faye would like to be an athlete when she grows up! Lauren Deadman in fourth and Lydia Comley two places back in sixth provided good support.

Also interviewed was Megan Foley, who won the London borough's 13-14 title, with Charlotte Watkins continuing her good form in runners-up.  Other good placings came with third places from Paul Andrews (Boys 11-12) and Katie Richardson in the equivalent girls' race.
