Havering
Mayesbrook’s Senior Men are still suffering from depleted numbers. Illness,
injury, exams and work commitments continue to make it impossible to field a
strong team.
The
semi-final line up with five Clubs from the top 2 divisions of the British
Athletics League presented an impossible task to qualify. With an important
League match in a few weeks any athlete carrying an injury missed the match. But
although finishing in the bottom two it gave an opportunity for some good
performances, despite the cold, wet and windy conditions.
Under-17
Steven Prady moved up to Senior athletics jumping 1.85 to place 4th
in the high jump. Danny Gamester competed for the first time this season,
finishing 6th in the Hammer with 42.91m being his best in a series of
throws all over 41m.
Rob
Dickenson ran the 800m finishing 8th in 2:00.7 and Shaun Stewart long
jumped 6.23 for season bests, Shaun also competed in the 100m – 6th
in 11.5 and the 200m – 7th in 23.3.
Graham
Pritchard took on the 5,000m race finishing 5th in 16:43.3 and Rob
Warner came 8th in the 3,000m Steeplechase recording a time of
10:58.3.
