The under 17 boys team acquitted themselves
well with a tremendous win at Enfield, in what was their second league meeting
of the season. The team finished
ahead of Maidstone in second, AFD in third and Peterborough in fourth positions
respectively.
In the under 13’s, there were wins for Peter Tyler in the
200m(A) and 100m (A), Ashley Reece with a personal best in the 1500m(A) and
Shot(A), Anthony Williams in the Shot (B) and Long Jump (B), Nat Senior in the
Long Jump (A), Jay Ryan in the 800m(A), Matthew Watkins with a personal best in
the 1500m(B) and 100m(B). The 4x100m relay team of P Tyler, M Watkins, J Ryan
and N Senior got the relay teams of to a good start with a win, in which the
whole squad

In the under 15’s, Terry O’Leary followed his excellent
start to the season by gaining a personal best to win the Hammer (A).
He also went on to win the Javelin (A) and ran the fastest league of the
winning 4x400m squad of Danny Skelt, Christian Newton,
Joe Golding and Terry O’Leary.
Other winners for the under 15’s included Samuel Thorne
Hammer (B), James Gregory 200m(A) and 100m(A), David Nefs 400m(B), Daniel
O’Connell High Jump (B), Christian Newton with a personal best in the Discus
(B),
Danny Skelt 800m(A), the 4x100m relay squad of James Gregory, Daniel
O’Connell, Paul Andrews and Andrew Luck.

In the under 17’s, Peter Phillips had an outstanding day
to win in the 400m Hurdles (A), 400m(A) and Discus (A), with two personal best
performances in the latter. Matthew
Kelsey, Mark Gardiner, and Greg Smith all produced double winning performances.
Matthew gained success in the 100m(A) and 200m(A), Mark produced wins in the
Long Jump (B) and 100m(B) and Greg won in the Shot (A) and Discus (B).
Other winners in this age group consisted of
Steven Prady (A) and Mark Connelly (B) in the High Jump, Peter Jones (B)
in the 400m Hurdles and the 4x100m relay squad of Matthew Kelsey, Mark Gardiner,
Tom Gregory and Greg Smith.

Boys producing personal bests in their chosen events were
Andrew Luck (4.59.1 and Martyn Chambers (5.00.0) in the under 15 boy’s 1500m,
Rob Howe (10.01.2) in the under 17 men’s 3000m, James Deane (2.18.0) in the
under 17 men’s 800m, Mark Connelly (58.2) in the under 17 men’s 400m.
In all, the team produced an excellent all round winning
performance today and will hope to continue this success at the next league
meeting at Deangate Hoo on the 3rd June.
