DISAPPOINTING LAST FOR BOYS

McDonalds Young Athletes’ Boy' League, Southern Premier, Round 3, Hoo 3^rd June 2001

Final result:

1st	Harrow	236 pts
2nd	Blackheath	207 pts
3rd	Medway	172 pts
4th	Havering Mayesbrook	149 pts

The under 17 boys team finished in a disappointing fourth place at the latest McDonalds League meeting at Deangate Hoo on Sunday. The team finished behind winners Harrow in first, Blackheath, second and hosts Medway in third respectively.

Despite the poor overall team placing there were some good individual performances, notably Terry O'Leary who gained a Man of the Match Award with a win in the Javelin with a new PB and throw of 44.87m for an English Schools qualifying distance.

Peter Phillip's excellent form continues with two personal best performances by winning the 400m hurdles and placing third in the 400m.

Steven Prady was another athlete to gain an English Schools qualification with PB in the High Jump of 1.90m and also went on to win the Long Jump B.

Other winners on the day were Ashley Reece (U13 - 1500mA), Matthew Watkins (U13 - 1500mB), Danny Skelt (U15 400m A), Joe Golding (U15 400m B & 800m A), Ashley Roberts (U15 3000m B - new PB) and Greg Smith (U17 Javelin A).
