The U20 team registered produced a solid  third at home at Mayesbrook in the final Thames Division fixture on Sunday.

There were just two wins but many personal bests.

For the women Angela James took advantage of the favourable following wind to smash her previous fastest time to win the B event. She added points in the javelin, triple jump and ran the relay.  Holly Thomas also improved her best in the long jump into a strong headwind, for second, and ran well in both sprints.  Lydia St Ange produced her fastest run this summer to equal her 100m PB and Lauren Edgar-Hill improved her javelin best for third. This quartet combined for fourth in the sprint relay.

Sophie Baggs was close to her discus best in finishing second and improved her shot PB in fourth.  Ellie Bounds stepped down to run 400m fort the first time and ran a useful 61.9s effort despite the blustery winds and was fastest in the 4x400m relay.  Nicola Peachey who was second in the B 400m hurdles and fifth in the high jump, Becky O’Neill who was fourth in the 1500m A and Gemma Phillips, third 1500m B joined Ellie in the 4x400m relay for another fourth.  Kelly Jarrold scored in long & triple jumps.

Laurence Goodacre was the only men to claim victory with success in the B javelin. He was also third in both shot and discus. The men notched up a string of runners up placings.  Charlie Moss was second in the 100m, equaling his season’s best, and also third in the 200m.  Callum Sutton ran strongly in the 1500m and his late charge almost brought victory but he just missed out, sharing the same time as the winner. Ian Price improved his best for second in the B.  Jamie Buckley-Stanton & Massi Dendani were both second in the 3000m and Grant Twist was runner up in the ‘chase.

Jack Edgar-Hill showed that the move up to the 110m hurdles next year will not be a problem as he posted a fast time for second in the A. Georgie Bean was second in the javelin and Adam McCarthy second in the B discus. Bothers Jake & Kieran Nelson were both third in the 400m hurdles, as was Adam Wileman in the B ‘chase and the injured Joe Ramie in long jump and Glenn Wileman in B shot. Terry Hughes (triple jump & relay) competed the team
