Third place for the National Junior league team at Cambridge was enough to confirm runners up spot in the table and a place in the Southern Promotion final at Hendon in four weeks.

Isaac Ogunlade provided the only A string win with 400m Hurdles victory, as Adam McCarthy made it a winning double by taking the B race. Ogunlade pushed National hurdles champion Ben Kelk (Cambridge) all the way in the spring hurdles  and was well inside the club record but the following wind was above the allowable limit. Jack Edgar-Hill won the B hurdles event.

Massi Dendani's fine finish brought him 800m B victory and he also anchored the 4x400m team to an excellent winning end to proceedings after good legs by Ian Price, Ogunlade and McCarthy.

There were good points in the 3000m as Hoseah Gikungu's league debut brought him a P and runners up points, with Callum Sutton runner up in the B  too. Sutton had earlier posted an 800m season's best, in fifth.  Joseph Waked was second in the 1500m B and Jamie Buckley-Stanton's PB earned him fourth in the A. Alfie Burr made a good league debut with third in the 'chase and Andrew Ker filled in for valuable second place points in the B.

Kerr had scored well in his specialities, equalling his vault best for third and successfully tackling the heavier U20 hammer for the first time to win the B, as Lewis Williams was runner up in the hammer A

Emmanuel Quarshie & Lawrence Goodacre were both second in the A&B shot and Goodacre improved his discus best in third and was fourth in the javelin, with Quarshie third in the javelin B.

Terry Hughes & Jordan Brown were busy in the sprints & jumps before joining Ogunlade & Edgar-Hill in the third place sprint hurdles quad.

For the ladies Kike Oniwinde bagged a pair of second places in javelin and shot and Gemma Phillips was runner up in the 3000m. Becky Stanley made an impressive league debut with an 800m PB in third and was also third in the 1500m. Her partner Patsy McWeeney was second in the B 1500m after third place in the 800m.

Angela James had a successful day with  second place in both 100m hurdles & long jump B, and added 100m & triple jump points. Ellie Watson was victorious in the triple jump B and scored in long  &high jumps also. Nicola Peachey was third in the 400m hurdles and also earned valuable points in 10m hurdles and high jump.

Deborah Knight was third in the B javelin and improved her bests in both sprints, and elder sister Katherine was third in the discus and B shot and also scored hammer points. Flic Clark was fourth in the 400m but had to withdraw as she was unwell and Rachel Kerr completed the line up with points in 200, 400 and discus plus running both relays.
