The NYAL team struggled to make an impression at Bedford on Sunday, finishing third behind the hosts, Bedford, local rivals Basildon and ahead of Brighton.

Best results came from the u15 girls where Frankie Calder, Nicola Hill and Catrina McAuliffe all had win doubles and the u17Men where there were win doubles in the 100m & 200m from Eugene Ayanful and Chris Clements, the 100m hurdles pairing of Richard Demko and Anthony Williams and powerful javelin duo Bonne Buwembo and Cafer Gunay.

Lisa Schofield and Katie Richardson were double victors in a depleted u17 women’s team, and there was a winning sprints double for Rebecca Clements for the u13 girls. Joe Webster and Grant Twist scored B string middle distance wins for the u15 boys and combined with Matt Bloy and Daniel Winters to win the 4x400m relay.
