The YAL squad won the three-way battle to avoid relegation at Eton on Sunday as they finished in second place behind hosts Windsor, just ahead of Woodford G & EL, fellow candidates for the drop, and Milton Keynes, who lost their Premiership status.

The u15 Girls contributed nine victories. Nicola Hill won the track athlete of the match for her u15G 75m hurdles win, and also won the B shot. Other double victories in this age group came from Frankie Calder & Rachel Kerr (both u15 200m & 300m - both Rachel's times were PBs),  while Catrina McAuliffe won both U15 discus & hurdles.

The u17 women racked up seven wins and it should have been eight. Lucy Sargent returned to club colours with a 200m victory in a good race over Windsor's Chinedu Monye and later seemed to have completed the double after clearly winning the 100m - but the judges had other ideas and placed her second behind the Windsor athlete.  Lisa Schofield made it a hurdles double taking the 80m & 300m events.  Katie Richardson (800m) and Hayley Thomas (1500m) also added victories and Lauren Clark's discus PB brought her A string success, and Lauren Newton took the B event for good measure. The team has been eyeing the league age group record for the 4x400m relay, which was added to the programme this summer. Sure enough they achieved their aim but on the day the Milton Keynes team ran faster. Lisa Schofield's 400m debut led off and Hayley Thomas kept the team in the frame. A fabulous leg by Lauren Clark put them on the shoulders of Milton Keynes but Katie Richardson's fastest ever relay leg of 57.4 was to no avail as junior international Joey Duck anchored Milton Keynes home to the record with a 56.2 split.

The u15 boys won six victories and the 4x400m relay. Matt Bloy was back to his best with a winning double, with a 400m PB & 800m close to his club record before bringing the 4x400m relay squad home for victory). His squad mates had all earlier added victories. Chris Warden had won both the hurdles and high jump, while Joe Webster set a new 800m PB in taking B victory and Steve McLachlan won the 3000m.

The u17 men that were there performed well but had too many gaps. Anthony Williams put on a slick hurdles display to set a new PB in defeating training partner and Essex schools champion Richard Demko - who took B string honours in the combined race. Williams also won the triple jump. bone Buwembo set yet another PB n winning the javelin and Craig Moore won the B discus.

There were encouraging results in the youngest age group. For the u13 girls Lucy Newman and Alex Edwards swopped victories as Edwards won A 75 and Newman the B, while Lucy turned the tables in the 150m with a PB effort to win A as Alex won the B. Alex made it a triple win as she took B shot honours and Kike Oniwinde's shot PB won the A event. Eleanor Bounds just fell short of victory in the 1200m but her new PB ranks her seventh on the club all-time list - with a further year in the age group.

For the u13 boys there were was an impressive win double for the powerful Michael Jones (200m & 800m), and Ben Western notched up long jump and 200m PBs in a good team performance.
