Athletes squad are in pole position as they head the South 1E Division
of the National Young Athletes League with another runaway win at wet
and windy Erith on Sunday. The Under 13 boys go from strength to strength as Alex Law again won three events, as did Jordan Fox while Freddy Keefe, Lewis Middleton and Charles Hammond each added a pair of wins. The Under 17 men were again dominant with almost a clean sweep in the throwing events thanks to Laurence Goodacre, Brad Burr and Lewis Williams. Terry Hughes (100), Joseph Waked (1500) and Jack Edgar-Hill all added A string track victories and Jake Nelson won the A high jump. Most B string events resulted in HMAC victories. The Under 17 women were also well on top with Holly Thomas winning A 100m sprint and 80m hurdles, Nicola Peachey the 300m hurdles, Rebecca O'Neill the 800m and Sharmila Golan the 1500. Throwers Sophie Baggs, Kike Oniwinde, Shelley Wilson and Katherine Knighht added six field events victories. For the Under 15 girls win doubles went to the 1500m pair of Amanda Blaxland and Avril Loynes, hurdlers Rylie Trott and Debbie Knight and the discus duo of Erin Baggs and Grace Duffey. The Under 15 boys added wins thanks to 1500m pair of Ryan O'Mahoney & Tom Davis, and Danny Wilson won the discus, with Ryan Blake taking the B long jump. Tomi Akingbade and Phoebe Maloney won the A & B 150m for the Under 13 girls team and Lydia Hallam again won the 1200m. Georgie Taylor tied for high jump victory.The team face a difficult journey to Lewes for round 3 on 31st May where they face third placed Bexley, as well as the host and lowly Chichester. |
