The Southern League senior squad ended their season on a high with victory at Colchester on Saturday. It was their third win in the five fixtures but the team were left to rue earlier third and fourth places which had dented their promotion chances.

A strong ladies squad notched up 14 wins, nine of these in the field events. Bethan Siddons had a hat-trick of wins taking the honours in the high jump & triple jump A strings and long jump B. Another field eventer to score maximum points in three events was Rachel Evans with a trio of B string wins in the shot, discus & javelin, backed up by hammer second, and her A string partners made it a full house with Gweorgie Taylor winning discus & shot and adding a hammer PB, while Emma Christmas won the javelin in a season's best.

Faye Fullerton ended her track season with comfortably wins in both 800m & 1500m, as did Nina Brennan in the 400m B and the sprint hurdles pairing of Lucy Bailey and Claire Brennan also took full points. The industrious Zoe Young bagged third places in four sprint & jump events, Beth James was second inthe B triple jump and Rachel Kerr, Amy Baggs & Under 17s Emily Jams and Tomi Sanwo added to the tally.

The senior men contributed ten individual and two relay victories. Josh Olawore won the long jump and Alex Law scored well with wins in the B long jump and shot, and second places in PBs in the javelin and triple jump. Laurence Goodacre won the shot and was second in the hammer, while younger sibling Alex took full points in the discus, with Michael Duncan also winning in the B. Veterans Arron Bonning & Stuart Tufton doubled up for pole vault victory, with Bonning adding high jump and hammer points.

Track wins came from Adam McCarthy in the400m hurdles, with Under 17 Kieron Riddell second in the B, and Matt Owers in the B400m with Fraser Boston second in the A. Paul Grange won the 1500m after second place in the 800m, as was Finn Hutton in the 800m B. Nathan Steele was runner up in the 100m and triple jump. Third places went to Ayo Ayomide (100m & 200m), Matt Bland (5000m), Karl Tucker (110m hurdles) and Sydney Conteh (200m), while James Stewart added 1500m points.

The day and league season came to a successful close as Karl, Josh, Nathan & Ayo combined to win the sprint relay in a season's best while Fraser Boston anchored the 4x400m quartet of Paul, Karl and Adam to another winning season's best.

The relay wins and other late results helped Havering come from behind to edge past London Heathside for a five point victory.
