Southern Men's League Division 3 - Finsbury Park 3 June

Another Poor Turn Out

Although there were some good individual performances the absence of a number of our regular athletes resulted in us coming last with a disappointing total score of 88 points. The full match result being :-

1st Muswell Hill/North London - 121 pts

2nd Newquay - 111.5 pts

3rd Great Yarmouth - 109.5 pts

4th Tonbridge - 105 pts

5th Havering Mayesbrook - 88 pts

Again, as in the opening match our main problem was a lack of competing athletes so I hope more athletes will make the effort for the coming match which is at Mayesbrook Arena on 24th June, especially those how have recently moved up from the under 17 age group and have not yet competed this season.

The third match of the season see us at home at Mayesbrook Arena on Saturday 24th June, for a joint match with our Women's Division 2 team where we take on Hounslow, Chichester R, Bracknell and Kingston & Poly commencing at 12.45 p.m. As this is a home fixture it is the ideal opportunity for all those who have not competed this season to start their season here, even if it is only competing in a non-scoring event, you can be assured that you will all be more than welcome. Similarly all under 17 athletes who will be moving up next season should also make the effort to come along and either watch the match or maybe enter a non-scoring event. It would be appreciated if all athletes could arrive by 12.15 at the latest.

Remaining Fixtures

24th June - Mayesbrook Arena.

8th July - Horsham.

22nd July - Yeovil

5th August - Andover.

Coaches will of course be provided for the final three matches with an overnight stay in Somerset.

Non-scoring events will be 100m and 1500m for matches 1,3 & 5 and 200m and 800m for matches 2, 4 & 6

I hope to see as many of you as possible competing on the 24th June Regards,

Peter Estcourt (Team Manager)
