Just seven men were in action for the Division Three team at Peterborough and despite working hard they placed fourth.
Multi eventer Aaron Bonning toiled away and was rewarded with the club's only win in the triple jump and notching up no less than five second places in the sprint hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot and pole vault, and third in the discus.
Chris Newton gained a hat trick of runners up spots in pole vault, hammer & discus and Ashley Reece was second in the B high jump. Lee Arrowsmith tackled several other events in addition to his favoured hammer with his best position coming in the B javelin where he was second. Ian Anthony doubled up in the 800 & 1500 and distance specialists Tony Collins & Gary Howard completed the team with 5000m points.
But the last place finish again leaves the team with an uphill struggle in the divisional stakes, with the final difficult match at Bury St Edmunds on 30th July.
