| Third place in the final
fixture at Bury St Edmunds on Saturday ensured another season in Southern
League Division 3 for the men's B team.
There was a welcome track return for Jason Lendon who celebrated his first outing of the season with a1500m run. Tony Collins again improved his PB in winning the 500m and Gary Howard doubled up with a B string win. Thrower Christian Newton enjoyed a day on the track and set 200m & 400m PBs and scored maximum B points with his brave steeplechase efforts. There were good field events points as strong man Steve Archer and Andy Tierney took full shot points, and Darren Keevil and Lee Arrowsmith contributed to a good day for the throwers. Arron Bonning tackled six events and a relay, and u17 Brian Gaisie made a good league debut in the sprints, while Ian Anthony and Russ Middleton added vital middle distance points. The team ended the season in 12th, in the 16 club division. |
