The Southern Women's League team placed third at Bromley on Saturday in their second round Southern League fixture and now place 11th in the 25 team division.

Favourable winds produced fast sprint & hurdles times.  In the u15 sprints there was a PB double for Frankie Calder who clocked 12.8s & 26.3s respectively for the 100 & 200m. In the senior equivalent Lucy Sargent again dipped under 12 secs with 11.8s in the A race and Kate Brewington secured top billing with a B string victory. It was another bust day for the GB international who also leapt to long jump victory, and gained points in the high jump, shot and javelin.

The hurdles were again a happy hunting ground for club athletes. In the u17 80m event Chloe van Wulven ran faster than ever before to equal the league record of 11.3s but lost out in a close tussle to National Schools champion Kylie Robilliard (Channel Island), who went one-tenth quicker still.  Lisa Schofield won the B race, and had earlier had a winning debut in the 300m hurdles.

Nicola Hill sliced seven-tenths of her PB in placing second in the u15 75 Hurdles with 12.4s while in the senior 100m Claire Brennan also set her fastest time of 15.1s in placing third in a good quality race. She had earlier cruised to victory in the one-lap hurdles, and younger sister Nina made it a family double with B success.

There was a welcome return in the 1500m from Lauren Deadman after 22 months out injured. The 20-year-old Loughboro student returned to the track action with second place in the A race.

Wins were hard to come by the the u15 events with Clare Robinson's B 800m victory the only success. But Ingrid Deane notched up another PB in the 1500m and versatile Nicola Hill spun the discus out to a new landmark.
