And for those that made it to Basingstoke strong opposition from Southampton and Aldershot made wins hard to come by. The team ended up in fourth with only local rivals Newham & Essex Beagles - also affected by the traffic delays - bringing up the rear. 

There were five wins for the u15s with victorious doubles from Nicola Hill (75m hurdles A & shot A with a new B), Catrina McAuliffe (B hurdles & A discus in a new career best), and a B shot win for sprinter Frankie Calder, who faced strong opposition in her speciality events, finishing third in each. Emma Fox carved five secs off her 1500m PB in placing second and her B string partner Cloe Winter also notched up second place points. Carla Schofield took B discus second place and the late arriving Lilla Jacks was third in the 200m after missing the shorter sprint. Becky Owen was promoted to the A 800m after her A string partner turned back.

Mel Harrison was the only senior winner in the B javelin and she contributed runners up spot in the other three throws, shot, discus and hammer. Sarah Deacon arrived too late for her favoured hammer event but scored well with second in the discus and third in the shot Emma Christmas was close to her best for third in the javelin A.

Claire Brennan was second in the hurdles and third in the 200m - having been promoted to the A race after Christina  Kalejaiye pulled up injured after her 100m fourth place.

Lisa Schofield won the u17 300m hurdles but fell when leading in the sprint hurdles. She also gained good points with her long jump second place.  

There was excellent middle distance PBs from Denise Harris (1500m - 3rd), with Lesley Felton also cracking the five minute barrier for B string 2nd and the 800m pairing of Vicky Smith and Laura Moore, who were fourth and third respectively.

Robyn Delivett had a busy day with runs in the 400, 200m and 4x400m relay, with her best result coming in the 400m B where she was third. Laurie Cossey was fourth in the 400m and ran in both relays.

But the result means that any remaining hopes of promotion back to division one must be put on hold for another season.
