International Kate Brewington returned to winning action as the Southern Women’s team placed equal third at Oxford today. After missing most of last summer through injury lay off she showed good form to win the 100m hurdles, long jump and B javelin, score in the 200m and anchored to 4x400m relay. The seniors earned four other victories. Lauren Deadman showed her own injury nightmare is behind her with a 1500m victory, Claire Brennan won 100mH B – as well as filling in in 100m, high long jumps – while Sarah Deacon & Mel Harrison's notched up a Hammer double, as well as piling up points in the other throws. Good points were gained by Emma Christmas’s javelin runners up, the same position scored by Sara Luck’s 400m & high jump efforts. Hannah Gamester, Robyn Delivett & Nina Brennan completed the senior contingent and Becky Owen contributed points in the U17 hurdles events. Sam Hill again starred for the U15s with winning PBs in both shot & discus & added a hurdles PB too. Kike Oniwinde won both javelin and shot, the latter in a big PB. Sophie Baggs added another carer best to win the B discus and more PBs fell to Nicola Peachey (200m & hurdles), Nicola Dalton (LJ) and Amber Turner (800m & LJ) Alex Edwards & Simbiat Salami completed the line up. But again too many gaps told the story and the final points tally showed HMAC equal fourth. |
