The women's Southern League squad kept up their run of second places when they finished behind the hosts at Milton Keynes on Saturday. The small squad performed brilliantly with an "all hands to the pump" display. Zoe Young showed her injuries are behind her with PBs in 100m & long jump, with a quartet of wins adding long jump A victories to her B hurdles, shot & javelin successes.

Mel Harrison won the shot, was second in hammer & discus and B triple jump and ran a leg to fill a gap in the 4x400m team. Emma Christmas took javelin honours and was runner up in B 100m long jump and third in the high jump, and ran the sprint relay. Hannah Conner (vault) contributed another field wins to add to her third place in the hammer.

Ingrid Deane's won the 1500m B but Vicky Smith earned admiration with her middle distance exploits placing second in 800m, 1500m & 3000m all in PB or near PB times.  Chloe van Wulven was second in both hurdles and the high jump, Karen Baldwin was second in the pole vault and triple jump,  the latter in a PB and Nina Brennan also  added points to the cause.
