Southern Inter Counties Cross Country Championships, Oxford, 13 December 2014

Lauren Deadman shrugged off the disappointment of missing out on European Championship selection to record an emphatic victory at the South of England Inter Counties Championships at Oxford on Saturday.

Lauren lead from start to finish, gradually extending her lead until she finished some 200m in front of Surrey's second placed  Georgie Bruinvels, helping Essex to win team silver medal in the process.  Lauren gains her next international vest on Sunday, having been selected to run for the England team in Brussels.

Lydia Hallam also showed good form to finish seventh in the Under 20 Women's race, with Bella Woods also in the silver medal winning scoring quartet in 33rd.

Three boys were also in county action with Tom Sheldrick (59th) & Lewis Debenham ( 72nd) contesting the U15 Boys race, while Oliver Woods was 84th in the Under 13 Boys squad.
