The senior women competed magnificently to achieve team bronze over the difficult quagmire of a course at Hillingdon on Saturday finishing just 11 points short of winners Aldershot.

Faye Fullerton and Lauren Deadman were in the leading group all the way, with both achieving top six slots. Faye battled through the mud to take individual silver medal while Lauren, no less determined, achieved her highest position in these championships in 6^th place. Robyn Matson also ran well to finish in 29^th place, while the all important fourth runner, Vicky Smith showed the determination to get within the top 100 in 96^th place out of 273, to secure the bronze medal for the team.

The Essex championship winning U15 Girls quartet, led home by Ellie Bounds in 18th placed 7th. Becky Stanley was 46th, with Rachel Sadler six places back and Amanda Blaxland completing the scorers in 69th.

The U17 Men were a creditable 12th.  Callum Sutton was first scorer in 39th, with Daniel Shanney in 46th, Thomas Shanney 106th and Joseph Waked in 115th.

The U15 boys in 26th were the only other complete team and also had the best turn out with seven runners. Ryan O'Mahoney was 117th, Hosea Gikungu 1323rd and Thomas Davis 127th , with Josh Connors in 166th completing the scorers.

Otherwise illnesses or injury in other races led to incomplete teams. The U17 Women were one short with the ever-reliable Zoey Littlechild in 34th, Gemma Phillips in 43rd and Michelle Lovell 103rd.  The U13 boys wre also depleted as Nick Shade was best placed in 68th, Nick Duffey 121st and Andrew Holland 219th. There were just two U13 girls with Lydia Hallam (61st) and Avril Loynes (90th) upholding club traditions.

For the older men only Grant Twist, 38th in the junior men's event and Rob Warner 87th in the senior men's field, appearing.
