South of England Cross Country Championships, Brighton 24 January 2015

Lydia Hallam recorded one of her best cross country results when she finished seventh in the Under 20 event at the South of England Cross Country Championships at Brighton's Stanmer Park on Saturday.

Also well placed was Faye Fullerton who was twelfth in the Senior Women's race in her first appearance in the Southern Champs since she won silver five years ago, while ever-reliable Vicky Smith was 59th with Jane Hallam placed 263rd.  

Newly crowned Essex Schools' champion Kate O'Neill led home the Under 15 Girls squad in 42nd, with Emily Marshall (176th),Amba Coombe (201st) & Emily James (226th) completing the 27th place scoring quartet.

There was a good turnout from the Under 13 Girls with nine athletes making the trip to the South Coast. Grace Dukelow was first home in 99thwith Molly Sweetman 1616ytth and siblings Molly & Lily Bath 179th & 187th respectively, as the team were 30th, while Alice Brown, Poppy Ellis, Jessica James, An Cooper & Chloe Rutter gained experience at Regional level.

Sarah Wilson returned from injury to complete the club line up with 76th in the Under 17 Women's race.
