Brad Burr won silver and Jack Edgar-Hill bronze for England East at this weekend's prestigious UK Schools Games at Cardiff.

Brad's 61.19m third round javelin throw - his longest since April - easily won him silver to make up for his disappointing sixth place at the English schools.

Jack finally won a podium place in the 100m hurdles, after fifth places in the English Schools and fourth in the England Athletics champs, for his first national medal.

Laurence Goodacre gave a good account of himself in the shot, throwing his best this summer of 13.73m for eighth.

After making much of the early pace, Ellie Bounds was run out of a final place in a tactical 800m heat.
