The UK Women's team finished their campaign just outside the promotion places after placing third in their third and final Division 3 match at Wigan on Saturday.

Faye Fullerton & Lauren Deadman doubled up for 1500m victory, finishing one-two in the combined race. In-form Lauren also smashed her three-day-old 800m PB to dip under the 2 mins 10 secs barrier to go into the club all-time top 12.

Vicky Smith carved another chunk off her 2000m 'chase best to win the event and was also fourth in the 800m B race.

Emma Christmas was another A string winner, taking the javelin honours and adding 100m points and running a relay leg. Jess Tappin (Chelmsford) competing again this year for HMAC under the league's Higher Competition rules, won both B high jump & her debut at the 400m hurdles and added 20m points.

Mel Harrison had her best set of results in the league this summer, placing second in the shot and third in the discus and hammer, the latter throw improving her career best.

Chloe van Wulven also had a busty afternoon, placing second in the high jump, fourth in the sprint hurdles and scoring in 200m B.  Claire Brennan also added runners up spot in the B 100m hurdles and fourth in the one-lap hurdles event.  Leanne Blaney equalled her pole vault best on her league debut, placing third in the B and her A string partner Karen Baldwin also added triple jump points.

Zoe Young registered her second longest jump for fourth in the long jump, was fourth in the javelin and fifth in the shot.

With every point vital Nina Brennan & Chekube Onwuka added to the cause as the squad held off local rivals Newham by three points.

Unbeaten Bedford took the title with hosts Wigan also promoted, while Wakefield joined already relegated Belgrave Harriers down into Division 4.
