A third place finish by the Under 13s and Under 15s at Hornchurch on Saturday confirmed third place in the Southern Premier Division and another year of top flight opposition in 2019, as both Under 15 girls' relay teams improved their recent club records

The Under 15 Girls again led the way.  English Schools champion Lola Kuponiyi won the shot and added Second in the B high jump as Ruby Mace won the B shot and was A high jump runner up. Alice Brown won the discus and was close to her best in finishing second in the 300m, with Hannah Yexley second ion the B discus and Olivia Boachie was third in the B 300m. Freya Higginbottom won the long jump winner. Jessie Collier was runner up in the vault, as Annie Grannell was third in the B. Bella Smith's PB earned second in a blanket finish in the 100m, with Paige Robinson third in the B, and she was also third in the B hurdles. Sydney Foley was third in the A 1500m as Natalie Sewell was second in the B and another top three placing came from Georgia Yexley in the B javelin. Aaliyah Payne, Paige Robinson. Shalom Gbadebo and Bella Smith combined to take the 4x100m relay record down to 50.0s -  which was to last under24 hours, and Uche Okpalauko, Olivia Boachie, Ruby Mace and Alice Brown rounded off the day by trimming the 4x300m record, as both squads were runners up.

Stephanie Okoro and Paris King starred for the Under 13 Girls. Stephanie's winning 1200m time was the fourth fastest ever by a club U13 and her 150m time in runners up spot was the third fastest ever. Paris King also entered the club all time top 10 in winning the B 150m and she added second places in the 75m and third in the hurdles. Tilly Canty won the B 1200m and Heidi Aylen was second in the B hurdles. Freya Long was second in the 800m, as was B string Ruby Tillson on her league debut, and high jumpers Charlotte Grundy & Isabelle Bartlett were also both second.  The relay quartet of Rania Richards, Stephanie, Tilly & Paris were also runners up.

The Under 15 boys scored well despite missing three of their English Schools representatives. Aaron Eweka won the high jump, as Daragh Thomas was B string runner-up,  and Oliver Yexley added javelin victory, as Patrick McLean-Tattan backed up his B string hammer win with second in the B javelin and third in the discus. Charlie Howell's big PB won the B 1500m as Alex Ford was only just outside his best in finishing second in the A. Jacob Blanc was second in the hurdles and there was a glut of third places thanks to Malcolm Oshungbohun & Michael Okoro (100m), Jed Oni (200m & long jump B), Charlie Black (300m B & hammer), Ashton Thatcher-Gray (pole vault B) and Timi McDaniel (800m B). Michael, Daragh, Jacob & Jed were third in the sprint relay and Lenny Houston joined Charlie, Daragh and Jacob in the third placed 4x300m squad

There were no wins but some good performances from the Under 13 boys.  Dominic Alexandru was runner up in both 100m and hurdles and third in the high jump, while Lewis Dixon ran the fastest 800m time of the year by a club U13 in his individual debut, placing second in the B. In the field Matthew Page (shot) and Harrison Mayhew (javelin) added B string second places. Reece Malcolm's long jump PB placed third and Sebastian Alexandru (high jump) and Owen Fisher (1500m) added top three placings.

Reading edged out league champions Blackheath & Bromley for their second win of the season to earn the National Final place as league runners up, as Havering were a solid third ahead of Tonbridge as last year's champions Southampton dropped out of the top flight, along with Bracknell.
