The Havering Mayesbrook girls and boys Eastern Young team travelled up to Milton Keynes, for a match between the last two unbeaten teams left in the league. Both girls and boys teams had weakened teams, and this was to show throughout the day with only a dozen points at any one time between ourselves and Milton Keynes.
In the end it all came down to the relays at the end of the match with Havering leading by nine points with six relays to go. At the end of the match, Havering won by a mere six points, to remain the only unbeaten team in the league and must now be strong favourites to go on to win the league with only two fixtures left.
The under 13 girls had several winners, but Lisa Schofield and Lauren Clark both had 3 wins. The under 15 girls also had several winners, with Christina Kalejaiye winning 4 times and Nicola Schofield and Lynsey Clark winning 3 times.
In the under 17's, Clare Sargent and Melanie Harrison both had outstanding days with 4 wins, closely followed by Eloise Crush, who had 3 wins. Caroline Smith, Sara Luck and Carmel Munson all moved up to help out the under 17's and recorded fine wins.
In the boys, Ashley Reece won 3 times in the under 13's with a personal best in the 1500m. In the under 15's Terry O'Leary and Andrew Bartlett who had both travelled back from the English Schools both won twice.
In the under 17's, Adam Cook had to wins and set personal bests in the 100m and 100m hurdles.
All in all, a very good team performance and still unbeaten in the league this season.
