The Eastern Young Athletes team romped to a massive 200+ point win at St Ives (Hunts) on Sunday, with emphatic victories in all six age groups. There was impressive discus throwing in the u13 girls age group as Lanhan Leary-Kiernan's 25m effort took her to 4th on the all-time list and Sophie Baggs' 23m PB took her into the top 10. These were just two of 11 individual wins plus the relay in this age group. Lanhan also added a B shot victory, with Deborah Knight winning the B. There was a middle distance clean sweep from Rebecca O'Neill & Nicola Peachey (800m) and Eleanor Bounds & Knight again (1500m), Emma Washbourne scored a pair of B sprint wins, and Jessica Seekings won the B hurdles. The relay squad completed the rout. The U17 women also notched up 11 wins with a A hat-trick for Frankie Calder with other A string wins from Kathy Yoka (triple jump) and Lauren Newton (discus) The u17 men capped the girls' total with 12 successes. Five A string victories came by virtue of Matt Bloy (800m), Ron Junes (1500m), Chris Warden (hurdles) Joseph Ramie (triple jump) and Cafer Gunay (javelin) and the team's strength in depth brought them six wins thanks to Bradley Reece's shot-discus-javelin hat-trick, Grant Twist (800m), Daniel Winters (1500m) and Warden again (triple jump) plus almost inevitably the relay. The u15 boys matched the 11 win total although only three A strings - Scott Dawes (100m), Michael Jones (discus) and Georgie Bean (javelin). The B strings were almost one-sided for HMAC athletes as Lima Hughes (10m & 200m), and Gabriel Makinwa (high & long jumps), Bean & Jones (discus & 800m) plus Chuks Onyike (hurdles) swept to victory, as did the relay team. The U15 girls and U13 boys both had six wins. Zoe Littlechild dominated the 1500m, with Jennifer Holland taking B string honours, Kike Oniwinde won the javelin and B shot, Nicole Dalton the B javelin and Lilla Jacks the B 100m. For the U13 boys Ben Western & Charlie Hazlewood won A string 200m & 1500m respectively, with B wins from Fred Mokoso (100m), Ryan O'Mahoney (800m) and Jon Seekings (1500m) with the relay team rounding off the half dozen victories.
