The Junior Women had some excellent results to finish fourth in the final National Junior League fixture to secure third place in the final Southern Premier Division table and a book a place in the National Final at Derby on 11 September.

Megan Foley and Helen Roche both won respective 800m races in style. Megan showed improved form as she controlled the pace and powered home in a new season's best while Helen - renowned for her late finishing bursts - left nothing to chance this time and started her long run for home at the bell.

The 1500m also brought good points for HMAC athletes as Harriet Scot,, back from her gap year trip to Malawi, ran well for second place while her B string partner Hayley Stibbs finished fourth in the combined A & B race to set a new PB and take the B string honours.

Chloe van Wulven tackled four events and set two PBs. She carved almost three seconds off her best 400m hurdles time in placing second and was also successful in her registering a height in second pole vault competition - she missed out last time. She also added two third places in her usual events the 100m hurdles and high jump.

Lisa Schofield made a fantastic 100m hurdles debut to place 2nd in the B race and clock the third fastest time ever by a club u17 at the event. She would have run even quicker but lost her stride pattern at the final hurdle when leading. Lisa also placed third in the B long jump, equalled her 100m PB for fourth and ran the opening leg of the sprint relay.

The 400m races also yielded good points. Lucy Rodgers came through for second in the A race while Lauren Clark went under 60 secs for the first time this summer in placing second in the B race.

There was a rousing finale as the 4x400m squad of Lauren Clark, Robyn Delivett, Harriet Scott and Megan Foley powered to victory. Lauren led the team home in the lead on the first leg, while Robyn Delivett kept the team in close contact on leg two with her fastest relay clocking. It was left to a powerful run from Harriet Scott to hand over to Megan Foley in front and the 800m winner was never in danger of adding a second success as the club quartet recorded their fastest clocking of the summer.

These results were backed up by a good all-round team performance.

On the field good points were added. Kim Box was second in the A javelin, third in the B discus and picked up hammer points, while Emma Christmas was 2nd in the B javelin, 4th in the 100m B, ran a sprint relay leg and scored shot points. Lynsey Clark was runner up in the A discus and 4th in the B triple jump where her A partner Kirsty Smith leapt a season's best but could only place fifth, and also added third in the long jump A.  Danielle Ross was sixth in the A pole vault.

On the track Nicola Schofield notched up good points with 3rd in the B 400m hurdles and 4th in the 200m B, while Robyn Matson was fifth in the 3000m. A scratch team of Lisa Schofield, Emma Christmas, Lucy Rodgers and Helen Roche placed fourth in the sprint relay.
